LJB Studio kickstarts a publication supporting independent makers
When Design Giving was looking to launch on Kickstarter with their new print publication dedicated to supporting independent designers and makers, they tasked LJB Studio with bringing the idea to life. Commissioned with curating a brand story, identity, managing the art direction, graphic design, paper specification and print production, a limited edition, perfectly bound publication was produced.
To reduce its carbon footprint and celebrate the well-crafted products designed to be kinder to the planet, six responsibly-sourced, recycled paper stocks were specified, combined with sustainably accredited packaging and branded merchandise. The muted brand colour tones reflect the natural use of sustainable materials, whilst the minimal clean layout grants the readers full attention on the articles content.
The Kickstarter campaign proved successful in raising £7,000, selling to thirteen countries world-wide, with five percent of all proceeds from issue one going to mental health charity, Manchester Mind.
